Finally at 5pm Dr. Rockhill came in with some horrible news. The results of the MRI showed 8 spots not 1 or 2 like they had seen on the first MRI. He said apparently we don't have quite the handle on the cance from the neck down like we thought we did and he also said that the standard procedure would be for them to remove the cage and send Gator down for Whole brain radiation! We were totally stunned! They had told us before, when he had the first Gamma knife that more lesions could be found with the high resolution MRI and if there were too many they wouldn't do the surgery but to go from 1 or maybe 2.... to 8 lesions! It was definatley a "didn't see that one coming" moment. Dr. Rockhill said that the good news is that all of them were about the size of the tip of a ball point pen and because Gator's last high resoultion MRI was done Dec. 31st that meant that the lesions were growing really slow! He said he would go ahead and zap them even though there were so many. I love that Doctor!!! So they took Gator in to "Gator-Done!"
